Eye-catching and Endangered

Loved the comments some of the kids at school made when I shared my blog with them today! Seems they're not all fans of the little glass frog! Ah, well, each to his own, I guess.
Anyway, today's wee amphibian is a wee gem, literally! Aren't those eyes just stunning?

This handsome chap is an Emerald Spotted Tree Frog and is from Australia, where he inhabits rocky streams in Victoria and New South Wales. He's only been found in 19 of these streams and is on the critically endangered list. There are thought to be less than 20,000 left. (information courtesy of http://www.iucnredlist.org/#)
The following video shows a small population being released back into Mount Buffalo National Park in Victoria.
